Eurocopter AS350 B2

The Eurocopter AS350 Écureuil (French for squirrel), now known as the Airbus Helicopters H125, is a single-engine light utility helicopter originally developed by the French aerospace manufacturer Aérospatiale in the early 1970s as a replacement for the Aérospatiale Alouette II. Designed for both civilian and military use, its first prototype took flight on June 27, 1974, with production beginning in 1975. Over the decades, the AS350 has undergone continuous upgrades, including advancements in avionics and powerplants, while maintaining its versatile, cost-effective design. Known for its exceptional high-altitude performance, the AS350 became widely popular in diverse roles such as law enforcement, search and rescue, and corporate transportation. By the late 2000s, over 7,200 units had been built, reflecting its global demand and operational flexibility.

The Eurocopter AS350 B2 is a variant of the AS350 series that stands out due to its higher gross weight capacity and improved performance. Powered by a single Turbomeca Arriel 1D1 engine, the B2 version delivers increased power, making it ideal for demanding missions such as firefighting, law enforcement, and mountain rescue. Notably, it features aerodynamic enhancements like a strake on the tail boom and an angled engine exhaust duct to improve yaw control and reduce vibrations. These design improvements contribute to the helicopter’s versatility and smooth handling, even in challenging environments. With its spacious cabin accommodating up to six passengers and the ability to be quickly reconfigured for various missions, the AS350 B2 has become a preferred choice for both civilian operators and governmental agencies worldwide.

Cessna T210L Centurion

The Cessna 210 Centurion is a high-performance, single-engine, high-wing aircraft designed and manufactured by Cessna. First flown in 1957, the 210 was designed to fill a market gap for a more robust and versatile aircraft than the Cessna 182, combining the capabilities of a small, retractable-gear aircraft with the convenience of a six-seat cabin. Over the years, the 210 underwent various upgrades, including changes to its fuselage, wing design, and engine power. By the time it ceased production in 1986, more than 9,000 units had been built, making it one of Cessna's most successful models.

The T210L is a turbocharged variant of the Cessna 210, introduced in 1972. The T210L was designed for better high-altitude performance, thanks to its turbocharged engine, which allowed it to maintain a higher cruise speed and service ceiling compared to its normally aspirated counterparts. One of the key features of the T210L was its more efficient aerodynamics, achieved through modifications such as a new electrical system, improved landing gear, and a three-bladed propeller. These refinements resulted in a notable increase in cruise speed, which was enhanced by around 15 km/h. The aircraft was produced in substantial numbers until 1976, and the T210L was widely favored for both commercial and personal use due to its performance at higher altitudes and ability to carry more passengers over longer distances.

This T210L suffered a hard landing when the pilot ran out of fuel due to a faulty fuel gauge. The list of parts and components we will recover from this aircraft is long. Here are some of the highlights...

Piper PA-31T Cheyenne

The Piper PA-31T Cheyenne is a twin-engine turboprop aircraft developed by Piper Aircraft as an evolution of the PA-31P Pressurized Navajo. Introduced in 1974 and produced until 1985, the Cheyenne is equipped with two Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-28 engines, each producing 620 shaft horsepower. This aircraft features notable aerodynamic improvements and structural refinements over its predecessor, offering enhanced performance and efficiency. With a maximum speed of 326 mph and a range of 1,702 miles, the PA-31T is well-suited for both business and utility roles. It accommodates a crew of two and up to six passengers. The Cheyenne series further evolved into variants like the Cheyenne II and Cheyenne IIXL, the latter featuring a stretched fuselage and more powerful engines. Its development paved the way for the larger PA-42 Cheyenne series, solidifying Piper's presence in the turboprop market.

This Cheyenne comes from a group of airplanes we acquired a while back. The engines and avionics are sold, but the rest of the aircraft is ripe for recovering a long list of great PA-31T Cheyenne parts.

We will recover a long list of PA-31T parts and components, such as...
