Cessna P210N Centurion

The Cessna 210 Centurion, introduced in 1957, is a cornerstone of general aviation known for its blend of speed, load capacity, and high-altitude performance. Initially derived from the Cessna 182B, the early models incorporated a retractable landing gear, swept tail, and an upgraded engine to distinguish themselves in performance. Over the years, the aircraft underwent significant redesigns, including a completely overhauled fuselage and wing in 1961, the introduction of a cantilever wing in 1967, and progressive increases in engine power and cabin space. These changes allowed the 210 to serve a broad range of missions—from personal transport and flight training to commercial charter services—earning it a reputation as one of the most versatile single-engine aircraft of its era.

The P210N, introduced in 1978, was a pressurized version of the Turbo Centurion, designed to offer improved comfort and capability at high altitudes. It featured a 310 hp Continental TSIO-520-AF engine, and its cabin pressurization allowed flights above weather and terrain that would be inaccessible or hazardous to unpressurized aircraft. The P210N's configuration, with four windows on each side and a more robust airframe, made it one of the most advanced single-engine piston aircraft of its time.

This model found favor among private pilots and businesses needing reliable transport across mountainous terrain or through variable weather conditions. The pressurized cabin significantly reduced pilot fatigue and increased operational safety in high-altitude environments. Between 1978 and 1985, 834 units of the P210N were produced, a testament to its popularity. Despite its complexity and maintenance requirements compared to other piston singles, the P210N remains a sought-after aircraft, especially among enthusiasts who value its unique combination of comfort, performance, and utility.

This P210N Centurion had a nose gear collapse that caused the usual array of problems, such as a prop strike. But it has an amazing panel with a lot of goodies that will not last long around here. We expect to recover a long, long list of P210N parts & components, such as...

Cessna 337G Skymaster

The Cessna 337 Skymaster holds a unique place in aviation history due to its unconventional push-pull engine configuration and its versatility in both civil and military roles. First introduced in 1965 as an upgrade to the fixed-gear Model 336, the 337 featured retractable landing gear, more powerful engines, and aerodynamic improvements like a dorsal air scoop for the rear engine. The aircraft's most distinctive feature is its twin-engine centerline thrust layout, with one engine mounted in the nose and another at the rear of the fuselage. This setup offered significant safety advantages: unlike conventional twin-engine aircraft, the 337 does not yaw significantly upon engine failure, making it easier to control in critical situations.

The Skymaster quickly proved its value beyond the civilian market. Its military variant, the O-2 Skymaster, served effectively as a forward air control and psychological operations aircraft during the Vietnam War. Civilian versions were used extensively in roles like air taxi services and aerial observation. The aircraft’s ability to maintain stable flight even with one engine inoperative made it a favorite among operators flying in challenging conditions. Additionally, the high-wing design provided excellent visibility, making the aircraft ideal for search and rescue missions, a role it notably filled with the Cuban exile group “Brothers to the Rescue” in the 1990s.

From 1963 to 1982, nearly 3,000 Skymasters were built by Cessna and its French partner Reims Aviation, with hundreds more flying in modified or militarized forms. Its enduring presence in various operational roles, from counterinsurgency to wildfire observation, speaks to its adaptability and enduring engineering. The aircraft’s distinctive sound, caused by the pusher propeller operating in disturbed air, became a hallmark of its presence in the skies. Pilots were required to obtain either a multiengine rating or a centerline thrust endorsement due to its unique configuration, further highlighting its departure from typical twin-engine design norms.

The 337G, introduced in 1973, marked a refined evolution of the Skymaster line, incorporating both aerodynamic and operational enhancements. It featured a recontoured nose cap, flush wingtip lights, a new low-drag front exhaust system, and a split airstair door that improved access to the cabin. Power came from two 210 hp Continental IO-360-G engines, which provided reliable thrust while supporting the aircraft's improved aerodynamics. Further model-year refinements between 1974 and 1977 included a redesigned instrument panel, auxiliary fuel options, and a “Camber-Lift” wing for better lift efficiency. With 354 units built by Cessna and an additional 29 by Reims, the 337G stood out for its comfort and operational capability, even though it lacked a turbocharged version in its unpressurized form.
