Piper PA-28-181 Archer II

The Piper Archer, a member of the renowned Piper Cherokee family of aircraft, boasts a rich history dating back to the 1970s. Initially, it emerged as a rebranded Cherokee Challenger in 1974, inheriting its stretched fuselage and semi-tapered wing. This improved the aircraft's handling, particularly at low speeds, making it more suitable for training and general aviation use. Over the years, the Archer line has seen several iterations, notably the Archer II, III, and the later TX and LX models, differentiating themselves primarily through engine options, avionics upgrades (like the introduction of Garmin G1000 NXi suites), and minor aerodynamic refinements. The Archer DX and DLX variants stand out with the incorporation of a fuel-efficient Continental CD-155 diesel engine, providing extended range and simplifying operation.

While retaining the fundamental design elements of its predecessors, the Archer series consistently reflects Piper Aircraft's commitment to reliable, easy-to-fly aircraft suitable for both flight training and personal use. The various models provide choices to meet the needs of different pilots and flight schools, from simpler, more basic trainers to more advanced aircraft equipped for longer flights and enhanced technology. The Archer's enduring popularity is a testament to its versatile design, consistent performance, and reputation for safety, making it a mainstay in the general aviation community.

The Piper PA-28-181 Archer II, introduced in 1975, built upon the success of its predecessor, the PA-28-180 Archer. Key improvements included a five-inch fuselage stretch for increased rear-seat legroom and the adoption of a tapered wing, enhancing low-speed handling and stall characteristics. The Archer II retained the reliable Lycoming O-360 engine, offering a balance of power and efficiency. While visually similar to the original Archer, these aerodynamic and ergonomic enhancements solidified its place as a popular and versatile aircraft for flight training and general aviation.

This Piper Archer clipped another aircraft on approach for landing, causing significant damage. We will recover a fantastic list of Piper airplane parts from this unit, including...

Cessna 210 Centurion

The Cessna 210 Centurion, a single-engine, high-wing, retractable-gear aircraft, first took flight in January 1957 and remained in production until 1986. Initially a four-seater with a Continental IO-470 engine, it was essentially a modified Cessna 182B. Subsequent redesigns in 1961 completely revamped the fuselage and wing, adding a third side window and extending the flaps for improved performance. The 1964 model, the 210D, boasted a more powerful engine and added child seats. A significant change came in 1967 with the introduction of the cantilever wing, replacing the strut-braced design of earlier models. The 210K became the first six-seater variant in 1970. Throughout its production run, various models offered normally aspirated or turbocharged engines and, in later years, pressurized cabins.

Over its lifespan, the Cessna 210 evolved through 26 distinct models, each incorporating incremental improvements and variations. These included modifications to the landing gear, engine power, cabin configuration, and wing design. Various upgrades and modifications were also available after production ended, such as life extension packages addressing wing-spar corrosion, and conversions to turboprop engines. Despite its generally positive reputation, the 210 also experienced significant airworthiness issues, particularly concerning wing spar fatigue cracks, leading to mandatory inspections and service bulletins from the FAA. The aircraft's design also influenced the development of subsequent Cessna models.

This aircraft is an OG Cessna 210 built in 1960. We have disassembled quite a few 210s in the past few months, but this is the most senior of the group. We will recover a wide range of parts from this aircraft that will bolster our 210 inventory and allow us to serve a much wider range of 210 variants. We expect to recover parts and components, such as...

Piper PA-44-180 Seminole

The Piper PA-44 Seminole, a twin-engine, low-wing retractable gear aircraft, first flew in May 1976 and was introduced to the public in February 1978. Certified in March 1978, the Seminole quickly gained recognition for its reliability and pilot-friendly design. Initially powered by two 180 hp Lycoming O-360-e1a6d engines, its unique counter-rotating engine configuration enhanced control during engine-out scenarios, making it a favorite among flight schools and private pilots alike.

Over its lifespan, the Seminole evolved through numerous refinements and modifications, each adding to its functionality and appeal. By harvesting and cataloging parts from this aircraft, we're not only preserving its legacy but also supporting the aviation community by keeping other Seminoles in the air. Components like engine mounts, control surfaces, and landing gear assemblies will bolster our inventory, catering to a wide range of PA-44 variants.

This particular Seminole, one of the earlier production models, has served as a reliable workhorse. As it transitions to its next chapter, its components will find new life in other aircraft. Stay tuned as we recover, document, and offer these parts to the aviation community. Each piece tells a story, and together, they help write the next chapter of the Piper PA-44 Seminole's enduring legacy.

Piper PA-28R-200 Arrow II

The Piper PA-28 Cherokee, a versatile and enduring aircraft, has been a staple of general aviation since its introduction in 1960. Designed for flight training, air taxi services, and personal use, the PA-28 family features all-metal, unpressurized, single-engine airplanes with low-mounted wings and tricycle landing gear. Its signature right-side door, accessed via the wing, is just one of many practical design features that have made the Cherokee a favorite among pilots and operators alike.

The Piper PA-28R-200 Arrow II is one of the most iconic variants and was first certified on December 2nd, 1971. Powered by a Lycoming IO-360-C1C or C1C6 engine producing 200 hp, this four-place landplane introduced several improvements over the earlier models. These included a five-inch fuselage extension, increased wingspans, a larger stabilator, and a higher gross weight of 2,650 lbs. With its retractable landing gear and enhanced performance, the Arrow II quickly became a favorite for pilots seeking a balance between efficiency and capability.

This particular Arrow II has served its purpose as a reliable and versatile aircraft. Although it was flipped upside down in a gustnado, its components will find new life in other aircraft of its kind, continuing to support the aviation community. Stay tuned for updates as we recover, document, and share these parts. Together, we're ensuring the Arrow II's legacy endures in the skies.
