A Legacy of Innovation Meets Hollywood’s Creative Vision

I’m thrilled to share an exciting new chapter in the BAS Part Sales story—our expansion into the film, television, and themed attraction industries. Over the years, we’ve built a reputation for revolutionizing aircraft salvage and procurement, and now we’re bringing that same expertise to Hollywood and beyond. With this venture, we’re giving retired aircraft a second life in the most imaginative ways—on-screen, in museums, and as centerpieces for creative attractions.

A Legacy of Innovation Meets Hollywood’s Creative Vision

Over the past decade, BAS Part Sales has grown into a trusted name in aviation, specializing in the procurement, salvage, and distribution of aircraft parts to customers around the world. When we acquired White Industries in 2023 and rebranded it as BAS Kansas City, I knew we were on the brink of something transformative. This acquisition gave us the foundation to take a bold step into entertainment, offering filmmakers, set designers, and creative businesses access to authentic aircraft for their visionary projects.

This shift isn’t just about selling old planes—it’s about storytelling. Whether it’s a crashed jet for a high-octane action sequence, like the King Air in the opening scene of Landman, streaming on Paramount+, or a vintage aircraft for a museum exhibit, we’re making it possible for retired aircraft to live on in exciting new roles.

Check out #3 on this list of real-life-inspired scenes from Landman. The King Air in the explosion in episode 1 was purchased from BAS Kansas City and refurbished to look like a slick, all-black airplane for the first episode - an airplane that gets blown to smithereens when an oil tanker crashes into it. This was wild to watch and it was very cool to have some small part in such a great production.

Our new initiative focuses on repurposing decommissioned aircraft into versatile assets for the entertainment industry. This approach offers a distinct competitive advantage, providing unique and visually striking elements that surpass traditional set designs in originality and impact. The potential applications are numerous:

Film & Television

Our repurposed aircraft provide unparalleled backdrops for productions, offering scale and visual interest difficult to achieve through conventional means. This translates to enhanced production value and reduced reliance on costly and time-consuming set construction.

Theme Parks & Attractions

These aircraft become the foundation for immersive rides and interactive exhibits, creating unforgettable experiences for visitors. This leverages the inherent excitement and appeal of aircraft in a creative and engaging way.

Events & Installations

The unique size and visual impact of repurposed aircraft create a memorable backdrop for various events, installations, and private functions, differentiating these experiences from standard venues.

Big-Screen Appearances and Unique Repurposing

  • King Air Aircraft for "Landman" (Paramount+) – We provided a salvaged King Air aircraft for dramatic effect in 101 Studios’ Landman, currently streaming on Paramount+.
  • Hawker 125 for "Ride or Die" – A Hawker 125 found its way onto the big screen with Ride or Die CDN Productions Inc.
  • Shorts SD3-60 at a Pennsylvania Bed & Breakfast – No longer airborne, this aircraft has been transformed into a unique accommodation experience.
  • Jetstream 31 Aircraft for Attractions – We’ve supplied these for everything from a Halloween horror display at Field of Screams to winery attractions and emergency training facilities.
  • SAAB 340 for Apple TV Production – Mountainair Films acquired this aircraft for an upcoming Apple TV project.
  • Lockheed Jetstar Components for a Museum Exhibit – The Ian Fleming Foundation repurposed select aircraft parts for a historical display.

These projects showcase the incredible range of possibilities when it comes to repurposing aircraft, and I’m beyond excited to continue supporting creative projects like these.
